30k in 30 days...
Inspired by tumblr Today was my first day of 30k in 30 days. (row). (Edit—-revised it today to 30k in 15 days) I figure this is a good way to work my weakness. I’m not a great rower so this will force me to learn a more efficient technique. And this is a good workout I can do while recovering. I knocked out 3,000k so that’s good, only 27,000 more to go!

Seasoning mix: Oregano Parsley Onion powder Garlic 1/4tsp salt Cayenne pepper 2 tsp Fennel seed 3/4 teaspoon unless noted per 1lb meat. Add to it while raw and cook according to your recipe! Got this recipe from a good friend who is a great healthy cook She uses it for turkey sausage, I’m using it tonight in ground venison.

Click on this if your new to Crossfit →
I think Crossfit is like everything else in life. You have to ask to understand. I think some gym owners these days are such great coaches but overlook the basics- like making sure your new members are comfortable. Crossfit can be intimidating before you start (and even if you’ve been doing it for awhile!) Managing expectations is key

Proof you can scale...
Today was my first day back at Crossfit. I still have my stitches in and am still sore but I was feeling lazy and couldn’t wait to get back in the gym. I did skill which was dead lifts. The gymnastic movement for skill was another story- I did a few ring dips before I decided it wasn’t a great idea. You use lots of abs to stabilize. WOD was 4x 200 m row 10 power cleans...

Corn chowder
Every Christmas I make corn chowder. One I stumbled across the recipe for and even after serious changes uts still not great for you. So we only eat it one time a year on Christmas eve. I made it last night and it was good but not nearly as good as usual. Everyone agreed it was good, but off. I woke up at 3am, and woke up nick to tell him- OMG! I forgot the CORN in the CORN Chowder.

A little Christmas XFit Jingle
Twas the WOD before Christmas, when all through the box Not one athlete was sprawled out, without sweaty underwear and socks. The pull ups were painful, yes a few hands did tear, But Santa kept coaching, “Nine more reps and you’re there!!!” Globogymers were nestled all snug in their beds, While visions of dumbbell curls danced in their heads. Not before thrusters, and pull ups, and running would...

I’ve decided that one of the worst smells is when you leave your protein overnight (or in your car for a week like my husband does) and then open the shaker to wash it.  makes me gag!

Obviously I thought it was funny when mr dr said I’d be back on the elliptical A few days later. But now I’m feeling like the joke is on me. I could go do some elliptical right now, but I absolutely could not do Crossfit. I should have been more specific when I asked about recovery times and what to expect. Being out of the gym the week before Xmas is not ideal. I needed to beat my...

The Eliptical?
so i have to get a last minute surgery on Thursday, and of course the first question i asked my Dr is how soon could I work out after.  His response “dont worry, you’ll be back on the elliptical in 3-4 days” I about died laughing and said “the eliptical?!?…please.  I do crossfit” he just looked at me totally blank faced ;)

crossfit-finesse asked: Thank you for that advice!:) That was helpful and I'm glad to know that something is working for you! I looked into the paleo diet, and I agree with some of it... but they explain that you can have butter? what! lol I'm pretty healthy but ya it wouldn't be attainable for me right now to give up whole wheat and bread... and I need dairy as well but I don't have a lot of it...

This is insane! My friend who actually inspired my blogging just posted this- Its so hard to believe that you can push your body to this point. I feel like real Crossfitters do it all the time but don’t know anyone who has experienced this. Keep her in your thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery! And, she has fab taste in clothes and fashion so check out her blog- I’m sure her...

I like this guy- he’s totally right and I love it.  He is an affiliate owner- and has this to say about commitment: I am not asking if you are a diehard CrossFitter committed to trying to qualify for the CrossFit Games. I’m just curious if you are committed to your training at One World. You may not hear this from other CrossFit gym owners, but if you aren’t committed to your training, have...
